Candidates should fulfil the given eligibility to fill GATE 2024 Application Form. Complete details about eligibility criteria is provided below:
General Eligibility:
As per the newly changes introduced previously, candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2+2 or 10+3+1 will be eligible to apply for GATE 2024.
Also, those who will be currently appearing in the 3rd year of their UG degree/ higher years of study or graduated in any Govt. approved degree course in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Arts/ Commerce will be eligible to apply for GATE 2024.
- There will be no minimum or maximum age limit as prescribed for this examination.
- GATE exams are primarily meant for the candidates those completed their degrees from a recognized university.
- Candidate who registered after prescribed period for certification equivalent to B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch from any of the professional societies (IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIChemE, IIM, IIE, etc) but meets other eligibility criteria, will be also eligible to apply for GATE 2024. However, as the matter is subjudice, the eligibility of such candidates will be subjected to further orders of the court.
- There will be no minimum percentage specified for appearing in GATE examination.
- No attempt limit will be prescribed to apply for this exam.
Qualifying Degree Eligibility:

Candidates, those from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ethiopia & Singapore either have to complete or must in the last year of their bachelors degree in engineering/technology or masters degree (M.Sc) in any relevant science subject to be eligible.
Note: If candidates is studying any higher degree or already get a degree higher than that mentioned in the above table, then candidates can select the minimum required qualifying degree while filling the application form.
